It’s time to debunk to you all the common theories that are circulating about exercise. It is better to know the truth because miss conceptions can hold you back from the goals and results you have set for yourself!
MYTH No1
“Weights will inflate my body”
In the past, this statement was usually a woman’s affair in the life of a personal trainer, but nowadays, I hear it from men too. This target group mainly asks for aerobic programs because it is afraid of unwanted muscle growth. Do not be afraid, my dear practitioners, because the only thing you will gain with resistance training will be a well-shaped and tight body that everyone will envy! This is because with resistance or weights, as you say them, you achieve a desirable muscle increase and therefore a reduction in body fat. Aerobic exercise strengthens the cardiovascular system and should be combined with resistance training, which will improve muscle tone and aesthetic effect.

“First I lose the extra weight and then I start exercising because otherwise the fat…will be tighten”
About 70% of your metabolism comes from your muscles. The only thing you shall achieve with exercise, my friends, is to boost your metabolism and reach the desired result faster! You will not achieve the body of your dreams with diet only because along with fat you will also lose muscle mass, so your burns will be reduced. In other words, not only are you allowed to start exercising when you want to lose weight, in fact it is MANDATORY!
MYTH No3
“I have to do crunches to get rid of the belly”
Even if you do 7000 crunches a week, neither will you lose the belly fat nor you will see a striation. To get rid of belly fat you need to do 3 things, 1) increase of the muscle mass so as to boost metabolism levels as I mentioned above 2) clean diet without bad fats and 3) aerobic exercise either in combination with resistance training or individually.
A skilled personal trainer will help you achieve your goals safely.
